Filt1860 – Manufacturer of Nets for Mussel Farming and Sustainable Aquaculture

Since the 1960s, Filt1860 has been a French manufacturer of mussel farming nets and aquaculture textiles. Thus, as a recognised specialist in the shellfish industry, we design and produce mussel pole and longline nets, made to measure, for professionals facing the challenges of the blue economy.

Technical Nets for Mussel Farming: Our Complete Range

We offer a full range of mussel farming nets designed to combine performance with respect for marine ecosystems. For instance, our products cover every need of your operation:

  • Cating nets in high-tenacity polyester, UV-treated – optimal resistance to marine conditions
  • Mytidouble stocking nets – synthetic/cotton blend or recycled cotton, several densities available
  • Spat rope nets – polyester, polypropylene or cotton, adapted to each stage of production
  • Binding nets – polyester/rubber, cotton/rubber or recycled cotton
  • Nets for pole mussel farming
  • Nets for longline mussel farming

Mussel Stocking Nets: Custom Manufacturing

Our mussel stocking nets are manufactured with mesh sizes from 14 to 40 mm, combining cotton and polypropylene. The cotton holds the spat during installation, while the polypropylene ensures secure handling and pole wrapping.

Cating Nets: Protection for Mussels on Poles

Our cating nets protect mussels on poles against swell, currents and marine predators throughout their growth. Thus, we manufacture them in polypropylene or polyester, with mesh sizes from 20 to 60 mm.

Tailored Solutions for Your Shellfish Operation

Our nets are sold by the metre. On request, we prepare them ready to use: cut to size, knotted and/or elasticated. Moreover, we work with a single material or a combination of two to meet each client’s exact requirements.

Available Materials

Polypropylene, polyester, cotton, recycled cotton and bioplastic.
